AU has posted its preseason prospectus for 03-04. Only three pages, mostly of useless info. The one thing of note is the field for the Rainbow Classic the Eagles will be participating in: Hawaii, Bowling Green, East Tennessee State, IUPUI, Lamar, Pepperdine, and AU will all be there. This is a respectable mid-major tournament, as BGSU, ETS, IUPUI, AU, and Hawaii were all either in or had a realistic shot at being in last year's tournament. The only team that is not so great is Lamar, whose only notable athletic achievement (from my research) is having attractive volleyball players.

Also of note in the prospectus, the best time to reach Coach Jones is in the mornings. Which clearly explains why he hasn't been taking my calls, since I've been calling mid-afternoon.

One other thing-- Andres Rodriguez is listed as the only captain of this year's team. Maybe this will give him the confidence to actually shoot.

  Are you ready for some nothing?

I know I've been lax for a month or so on posting. Thing is, there isn't really any hoops news to speak up. Holy Cross beat up on a bunch of Irish basketball players in Ireland, Lafayette released its full schedule, and that's about it.

Soon, my least favorite sports time of the year will be here, when baseball is over, basketball hasn't started, and football and hockey are supposed to keep me happy. As Alfred E Neuman said, ecch.

But have no fear. Only 2 months or so till basketball starts. I'll be here, I hope you will be too.
