Bowen replaces Mostransky
Dan Bowen, the most valuable player of the 1999 Pepsi-Marist Classic, has joined Magarity's coaching staff and will serve as an assistant, replacing Kyle Mostransky.
Bowen, a Bucknell graduate, started his coaching career as an assistant at the University of Scranton in 2001. He assisted with the scouting of opponents and off-campus recruiting. In addition, he coordinated film exchange and oversaw the weight-training program.
At Marist, Bowen's main responsibilities will be film exchange, recruiting and planning and execution of practices.
"Obviously, we are thrilled to have him," Magarity said. "I think he is a tremendous addition to our staff. How often do you bring in a guy who was the MVP of the Pepsi-Marist Classic and he didn't even play for you? The kid is a first team All-Patriot League center for Bucknell. He is just a terrific player and a great kid, plus he has two years of (coaching) experience."
